What is Pilates method?

Pilates is unique system of exercises that stretches and strengthen your body. It was developed by Joe Pilates almost 90 years ago, it works sequence of controlled and precise movements, with special equipment of apparatus designed by Pilates. Sessions are supervised, entirely, by qualified and certified professors.

Why is Pilates good for you? Why do you need it?

Pilates works the whole body. It slims as well as it works body alignment, lung capacity, postural education, stiffness, flexibility and rehabilitation of muscles, joints, ligaments, back pain, hip, knee, ankle, neck, shoulder, wrist and elbow problems. Its very good for people with scoliosis, arthrosis, arthritis, osteoporosis, hernias, hunchback or any fracture recovery. Pilates is addressed for all ages and abilities, sedentary workers, dancers, actors, models or dj´s. Every single muscle of your body can be worked or recovered from injury. We work starting on basic level and exercises are modified depending on your body problems. All lessons are tailored to your individual body needs and rehabilitation. How many times a week should I do Pilates?

In order to get maximum results you should commit yourself to three sessions per week. Doing less is still going to be beneficial. One should always remember that consistency is the key to reaching your goals.

How long will it take before I see results?

Joseph Pilates said that, "You will feel better in ten sessions, look better in twenty sessions, and have a completely new body in thirty sessions."

If I am pregnant, can I do Pilates?

Only if you have been doing Pilates on a regular basis for at least six months to a year before conception. With the approval of your physician, Pilates is a wonderful way to keep in shape and prepare yourself for delivery.

Do I need to be in shape to start doing Pilates?

There is no physical pre-requiste to benefiting from Pilates - come as you are! I just had a baby and would like to start doing Pilates.

How long do I have to wait after birth?

Always consult your physician before beginning an exercise routine after giving birth. Once you have the ok, call to make an appointment.
